2D Background Designer

2D Background Designer
Key Responsibilities
- A Background Designer or layout artist illustrates backgrounds and environments.
- Works as part of the design team on a production.
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts.
- Strong composition and design skills
- Strong sense of perspective
- Ability to design different styles of backgrounds.
- Sketches and finished illustrations of backgrounds and environments in a style relevant to 2D animation production
- Solid drawing skills – Figure drawing or dynamic character drawings
- 1-2 years of experience in the development of 2D art (Environment) from concept art to a final asset.
- Proficiency in Photoshop.
- Strong understanding of design principles, color theory, perspective, and lighting.
- Ability to work in cartoon art styles.
- Strong portfolio.
Will Be A Plus
- Experience with art production for full-cycle cartoon development.
- Knowledge of animation principles.

Key Responsibilities
- Creating animated characters, scenes and graphics
- Liaising with the creative team lead regarding the style, method and execution of animation to be produced
- Work collaboratively with other animators to ensure consistency and accuracy of animated designs
Requirements
- Proven experience in animation
- Advanced knowledge of ToonBoom Harmony, Moho, Adobe animate or After effects
- Advanced knowledge of Maya Software ( for 3D animators )
- Teamwork and excellent communication skills
- Familiarity with a range of animation software and techniques

Storyboard Artist
